Project Digital Transformation (DT) is an integral component of our Online MBA program that immerses participants in real-world projects helmed by leading corporations. This unique opportunity offers a practical avenue for the application of classroom and theoretical knowledge, ensuring all-round professional preparedness.
Students work on live projects involving the application of digital maritime technologies to companies’ business and operating interests. This initiative delves deep into the application of artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, and Industry 4.0 technologies within the maritime and supply chain domains.
The projects are carefully selected in collaboration with industry leaders, with guidance by IIT Madras faculty, industry experts, mentors, and corporate senior management. IIT Madras and i-maritime Consultancy identify potential projects with leading companies. Projects are designed to be challenging and relevant to the real-world needs of the maritime and supply chain industries.
IIT Madras and i-maritime Consultancy select the projects that are most suitable for Online MBA participants. Projects are selected based on their complexity, relevance, and potential impact.
IIT Madras and i-maritime Consultancy assign the selected projects to groups of 4-5 program participants. Each group is also assigned a project mentor from i-maritime consultancy and a faculty mentor from IIT Madras.
Program participants will work on their projects for 10-12 weeks. During this time, they will meet with their company mentors and faculty mentors on a regular basis to discuss progress and get feedback. Participants will also be expected to conduct research, gather data, and develop and implement solutions to the problems that they have identified.
At the end of the project, participants will be required to submit a final report and presentation to their company mentors, faculty mentors, and the course instructor. The report and presentation should summarize the findings of the project and outline the recommendations for improvement.
The company mentors, faculty mentors, and course instructor will review the final reports and presentations. The projects will be evaluated based on their impact, feasibility, and presentation quality.
Once the projects have been reviewed and evaluated, the course instructor will announce the final grades. Participants will also be required to submit a project reflection paper, in which they discuss their learnings and experiences from the project.
